Homebuilders, lot developers or rental community developers
We are excited about the cooperative initiative we have with www.Permabuilders.com and are actively considering other projects. We could build retail centers, storage facilities, standalone hotel rooms, etc. We will need to know how many houses per year you are currently building, whether you are building spec or custom homes, what square footage home you prefer to build, etc.
Future homeowners who would like to build on their land
If you would like to consider building a concrete home on your land, we would be excited to consider your project. As mentioned in the Homebuilders section, we are working with Permabuilders.com. We are focusing only in the greater DFW area and you’ll need to own your land free-and-clear. We’ll need to decide if our company will be the general contractor or if you have picked one already. If you are expecting vast savings, 3D printed homes may be competitive but not to the extent of some of the myths you may have heard on the internet. Our FAQ section and Contact Us page should lead you through the items needed for consideration.
Consulting and/or training to understand 3D concrete printing/robotics and/or actual construction techniques
Many companies are intrigued with the 3D printing/robotics process, but unlike so many others, we don’t just have hypothetical theories, we have built actual homes. Located an hour east of Dallas, our homes are built with engineered foundations, 3D printed walls, traditional roofs, and other typical amenities. Our current homes are 1225 sf, 3 bedroom, 2 bath homes, and our consultations will include various specifics relative to 3D printing, as well as scheduling you for a live print. Reach out today through the Contact Us tab to learn what training resources we offer.
Government entities needing alternatives to typical housing solutions
Rising homelessness is an issue facing every level of government in our country today. My Robot Builds
is anxious to meet the growing need for affordable, safe, small housing units. 3D Printed units can be
built quickly and economically, and they are virtually indestructible. Click on the Contact Us tab to
connect with our printing specialists to see how your agency can help societies’ most vulnerable.
Non-profit organizations
Interestingly, many of the first homes that have been 3D printed have been for non-profit organizations. When you have a mission to accomplish and every dollar counts, finding the most affordable and yet the most durable and long lasting solution is key. Many non-profit groups have found 3D Printing to be the exact answer to their building dilemmas. When you reach out via the Contact Us tab, our specialists will be able to create the structures of your dreams, while remaining fiscally responsible
Academics/Careers
Universities and colleges are beginning to recognize that automation has lagged within the construction industry over the past decades. With this technology, there are challenges in the material sciences area, electromechanical sciences, structural engineering, architectural and design opportunities, etc. We are currently seeking interns, graduates within all these disciplines.
We are actively seeking assistance in the following disciplines:
Structural engineering
Electomechanical/software engineering
Investors
We have been completely self-funded and are not actively seeking investors other than friends or family
The question that we are asked the most: How can I compare the cost of 3D printing versus traditional construction?
There are many factors that can influence the cost of both traditional construction and 3D concrete printing. To begin to make a comparison, you’ll need the following:
-
Location of where you intend to build so that you are aware of all jurisdiction regulations
-
Floor plan and elevations of the home you intend to build
-
Soil test and lab results with an engineered foundation for concrete and for comparison, a foundation for traditional — the foundation for the concrete home will be more expensive than for traditional construction because of the weight factor of the concrete
-
Structural engineering for wall designs (we can assist here)
-
Interior furnishings (lights, faucets, tubs, etc) are not needed for comparison purposes because those will be the same regardless of the type of construction
Once you have this information, we can make ourselves available through our Consulting Department to assist you in formulating the cost comparison.
